Hi, I’m andrea

I’m interested in what lies beneath the surface of who we believe ourselves to be: the patterns we’ve learned to survive, the parts of ourselves we’ve had to silence, and the innate wisdom that can emerge when we begin to feel at home in our bodies. Many of us move through life shaped by conditioning, protective responses, and experiences we haven't fully had the opportunity to process. We may find ourselves repeating painful relationship dynamics, living with chronic stress or overwhelm, feeling disconnected from our bodies, or sensing that something deeper is waiting to be discovered. If any of this resonates with you, you are welcome here.

My approach to this work is informed by my own experience. For years, I struggled with anxiety, depression, and a profound sense of disconnection from myself. I experienced what it was like to live in patterns of survival, feeling either overwhelmed by what was happening inside me or unable to fully access and express what I felt. This disconnection was intertwined with my experience of chronic pain and illness. My own process of healing and awakening has been gradual, teaching me that becoming more present and embodied isn't about forcing change, but about cultivating the conditions in which change can unfold. Through this process, I’ve developed a deep respect for the body's protective responses and the ways our experiences shape how we move through the world. I bring a sensitivity to what may be happening beneath the surface, alongside a curiosity about what the body is communicating. In our sessions, we work at a pace that respects your capacity, creating space to notice sensations, explore protective patterns, and reconnect with parts of yourself that may have felt inaccessible. Through Somatic Experiencing and touch-based bodywork, we can support the body's capacity for regulation, allowing protective responses to soften and previously interrupted impulses toward movement, expression, and connection to emerge.

My work draws on a decade of study and practice across somatic, body-based, psychological, and holistic traditions. I hold a BA in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and am a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT), trained at McKinnon School of Bodywork in Oakland. I am also a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), having completed the training program through Somatic Experiencing International, based on the work of Peter Levine. My bodywork training includes Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Acupressure, Reflexology, Myofascial techniques, and Cupping. I have continued to study with practitioners working at the intersection of touch, trauma, and the nervous system, including Kathy Kain. I am also a certified Clinical Herbalist, with additional studies in Parts Work, Hakomi, psychology, sociology, education, restorative justice, and mindfulness meditation. In addition to my private practice, I offer ketamine-assisted therapy at Sage Integrative Health, integrating Somatic Experiencing and touch work to support clients in their psychedelic experiences.
